Alex smith: profile
Alex is a twenty-two year old Sports Coaching & Physical Education graduate (University of Chichester), and a current FA Level 2 qualified football coach, with UEFA 'B' License pending final assesment. Having been coaching football since the age of fifteen, he is slowly but surely gaining the experience required to become the best coach he can be. Alex has had the opportunity to coach in a wide variety of scenarios; boys and girls, young and old, schools and clubs, but cannot help but feel the heart of 'real football' lies in mini-soccer, the golden learning years in which many players find their feet and rapidly improve. In recent times Alex has moved into the world of coach education, working with young coaches who aim to succeed in the game, acting as a tutor, educator, and guide for these coaches is extremely rewarding, and has the potential to have significant positive impacts upon a huge amount of players.
With regards to a coaching philosophy, it should become very clear through the blogs that are regularly posted on this site. In brief; keep things simple. trust the players, provide them with problems and allow them the opportunity to solve them, ensure all players are very comfortable with the ball at their feet, and have a range of high level techniques at their disposal.
Enjoy the site, and remember when you think, Think Coaching.
